Flair Airlines flies the most reliably in Canada in January despite winter weather.
EDMONTON, Alberta, February 5, 2025 – A new year, same results—Flair Airlines, everyone’s favourite affordable airline, once again led Canada in reliability, completing 99.3% of scheduled flights in January. That’s much better than Porter (98.4%), with Air Canada and WestJet tied at 97.3%.

January’s harsh winter weather impacted all airlines, and while Flair prioritized flight completion over punctuality, improvements in both areas remain a focus. Flair’s On-Time Performance (OTP) landed at 61.8%, just behind Porter (62.9%), while WestJet and Air Canada led at 72% and 68.5%. Flair was still able to deliver on its OTG with 88% of flights arriving within 60 minutes of their scheduled arrival.
“Despite the challenges of winter, Flair was able to minimize cancellations far better than our competitors,” added Wilk. “Passengers would rather wait a little longer than have their plans completely derailed, so we focus on completing flights above all else. We’ll keep improving our operations to ensure reliability and timeliness are delivered consistently for our passengers.”
Flair cancelled flights almost four times less often than competitors, reinforcing its commitment to ensuring passengers reach their destinations. Operating with an efficient 86% load factor, the airline transported 307,252 passengers across Canada, the U.S., the Caribbean, and Mexico while also reducing emissions to 86.7 grams per revenue passenger mile (g/RPM), nearly three grams lower than in December.
